"Fear is the cheapest room in the house. I would like to see you living in better conditions." - Hafiz
There you have it—fear is low rent.
But what blew me away is picturing fear as an actual location. I don’t know about you, but my fears are often subtle, murky and undefined. They sneak up, dishing out general doom and a persistent, nagging dread that’s hard to put my finger on.
Meanwhile, back in reality, rooms are measured, specific, defined, intentional, deliberately and consciously placed. There’s nothing sudden or chaotic about a physical room. And that’s the power of this image.
In a room, you’re in charge. You can leave anytime, just walk straight out. Plus, it’s cut and dried—you’re there or you’re not.
While it is worthwhile to snoop and investigate the contents the fear room, don’t linger. Store your crap, lock it and only return occasionally.
