Do you realize how often our senses strain?
To predict and brace.
To analyze and judge.
Sounds exhausting. It is exhausting.
"The primary function of the eyes and tongue is to marvel at human existence." - a yoga teacher (of course)
Everyone chuckled when he said it, because we know the truth. Most of the time they're used for the opposite purposes. Complaining. Ranting. Critiquing. Raving.
But, marveling? What's that even mean? It's wondering at and being curious about stuff. And being filled with "wonder, admiration, or astonishment, as at something surprising or extraordinary."
When did you last use your tongue for such purposes? Or your eyes? Or both?
Try it for the next half hour. See what happens. Can you catch yourself when you slip?
